Call for Proposals

The ForwardFocus conference team is pleased to announce that the 2019 call for proposals is now open. We are accepting proposals for both in-person and virtual presentations.

This year's theme is The Voice of the Student.

How do we know our students and what they need? As librarians, we have a responsibility to ensure our students’ voices are heard. We want to hear your student-centered proposals on any of the following topics:

  • Collections

  • Instruction

  • Assessment

  • Student data

  • Services

  • Technology

  • Equity barriers

  • Social and emotional needs

  • Open Educational Resources

  • Serving diverse and minority communities

The voice of the student echoes into every corner of community college librarianship, but how do we make sure we’re really listening? Share your ideas with us! Maybe a recent project illustrates a student-centered approach to one of these topics, or perhaps you’d rather lead a hands-on workshop. No matter the delivery, let us hear how you listen to your students.

ForwardFocus is Friday, October 25, 2019. The conference is held virtually only and is free to attend.

If you are interested in presenting, please complete a call for proposals form by May 13, 2019.
